Monday in a Moment #5 | On Spring

MONDAY

1 ::
Spring Food Cravings
 – Oh man…. With cinco de mayo 8 days behind us, I’m still on a Mexican food kick. I don’t know what it is about spring… maybe the warmer weather, everything finally turning green again, or the bright colors that are making us shed our winter neutrals…. but I have been hitting the Texmex in the kitchen like you would not believe. I think a part of me is homesick, since last year at this time I was already home in Texas perched at my mad scientist table DIY-ing everything for our June wedding. German food is great and all, but it’s missing that kick… the pizzazz .. the spicy flavorful zing. So if you haven’t been in the mood for Mexican food, you’ll be salivating till you get your hands on some salsa after reviewing these recipes!

2 :: Shoes to put a Spring in your step – White House Black Market has long since been the clothing store that personifies my closet. It is the one major store that I miss the most living overseas. Their shoes have found their way into my closet dating back to at least 10 years ago. When the seasons change, I am always itching to see what new styles come out, and this spring, as always, I wasn’t disappointed! 1) WHBM – LAGOON SNAKE-EMBOSSED STRAPPY HEEL $118.00 2) WHBM – FLAME STACKED WEDGE $108.00 3) WHBM – ANKLE TIE ESPADRILLE WEDGE $108.00 4) WHBM – NEUTRAL STRAPPY SLINGBACK HEEL $118.00 5) WHBM – SAPPHIRE SUEDE/SNAKE EMBOSSED SLINGBACK SALE $41.99

1 :: Spring Flowers – Oh the tulips. I have never in my life seen so many during spring as I have here in Germany this year. I’m particularly excited to live out the next month here as this is the only month I haven’t seen in Germany {as mentioned above I went home to prep for our wedding last year}. Tulips are such a happy graceful flower and the colors here are particularly enticing. So for those of you who live across the ocean with me, take a moment and savor the blooms this year. You’ll blink and they’ll be gone.

1 :: Spring Cleaning – Hosting friends always inspires a good cleaning. {S & B will be here tomorrow!!!!!} Luckily this year a visit coincides with spring to give the W house a good spring cleaning. We’re talking dusting, polishing, window washing, organization, re-organization, hanging pictures, etc. I haven’t felt this zen in a looooooooooong time. There’s nothing like the scent of rain wafting through your clean home at the end of the day. I’m on such a lavender kick lately and I found a cleaner that leaves my kitchen clean and smelling fresh! So for those of you who are dreading the cleaning monster, bite the bullet and dig in! It’s completely worth it and will leave you feeling lighter, less cluttered, and secret identity worthy.

1 :: Spring into Action – Lately I have run into more photographers in need of a brand for their company. I have had the privilege of designing several brands for a handful of photographers and other businesses here in Germany. I am happy to offer these services to anyone interested! So many people fail to realize the importance of a brand. A custom image that marks who YOU are and what your company represents can be so vital to the survival in such a competitive industry. I have officially launched Kirsten Ashley Designs as a part of Kirsten Ashley Photography. KA Designs offers services in branding, business card design, custom marketing materials, price sheets, client guides, invitations, cards {Christmas, birth announcements, save the dates, etc.} and so much more! Please contact me if you are interested and I will happy send you a welcome packet full of information! I look forward to working with you!

1 :: Spring brings new Seniors – School is practically over for everyone, high school and college alike. Which means it’s the perfect time for you to get your senior photos taken! Juniors who will be seniors next year, it’s never to early to schedule a date to get your photos taken! It is important to realize that if you want sunny images full of green trees you have to get your photos taken now. Most yearbook offices require the students to turn in their senior photos to the yearbook by December, which means this is your last chance to get photos in beautiful weather! I offer senior sessions on location of your choice with as many props and outfit changes as we can squeeze into your photo shoot. Ready to book your session for the summer? Contact me! My calender can fill quickly and I don’t want you to miss out on such an opportunity to feel like a celebrity for a day! Coming up on the blog is this senior to be, Miss Kathryn Parish! I can hardly wait to post the sneak peek!

That’s all for this Monday! Hope this inspired you to start your week refreshed and ready to conquer. Don’t forget to come back next week!
